iTrips
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how iTrips (the "Service") collects, uses, shares, and retains your personal data, and how you can exercise your rights.
This is a provisional version. The final text is being prepared; this page will be updated with an effective date when it is published.
Effective date: not yet announced
Data we collect
This section will describe the account data (name, email address, sign-in provider identifiers), the trip content you create (trips, places, journals, photos and videos, expenses, to-dos, imported booking documents), device information (push token, device name), and usage records we collect.
Location data
The Service obtains your location in three situations: (1) when you turn on location sharing for a trip, it gets your current location once while you open the app and shares it with the members of that trip; (2) track recording, after you tap Start recording, collects your location continuously until you tap stop, and if you choose Always allow it continues while the app is closed or not in use; only you can read your tracks, and you can choose not to upload them and delete uploaded data; (3) when you turn on location sharing for specific friends or send an SOS, they can read your latest location during the sharing period. When you are not recording a track, the Service does not get your location in the background. Location is not used for advertising. Details such as the retention period are being drafted.
How we use data
This section will describe how data is used to provide and improve the Service, sync collaboration, send notifications, handle support and issue reports, manage subscriptions, and for advertising and analytics.
Third-party services
This section will list the third-party services used by the Service and their purposes, including: Google and LINE sign-in, Google AdMob (advertising), Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics), RevenueCat and the App Store / Google Play (subscriptions), Google Gemini (AI recommendations and booking document parsing), and map tile providers.
Advertising and tracking
The free plan shows ads. On iOS you are asked whether to allow tracking first; if you decline, every feature remains available and ads are shown without personalization. Pro subscribers do not see ads. Details are being drafted.
Data retention
This section will describe how long each type of data is kept and how it is deleted.
When you use the service as a guest without signing in, we record the IP address at the moment the guest account is created. It is used for one purpose only: detecting and handling abuse where large numbers of accounts are created in a short time. This record is kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically. It is not used for advertising, not shared with third parties, and not used to infer your location.
Deleting your account
You can request account deletion in the app under Settings > Account > Delete account. You are signed out of every device immediately, and your account and the trips you own are permanently deleted after 30 days. Signing in again within those 30 days cancels the request. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; please cancel it in the store's subscription settings.
If you have not installed the app or cannot sign in, you can also request account deletion without the app by emailing the Service's contact address. [The contact address will be published before release.]
Please include the following information so we can confirm that you own the account:
- The email address you used to register or sign in
- The display name of the account
- How you sign in (email and password, Google, or LINE)
Within 30 days of confirming your identity, we will delete your account, the trips you own, and related data, and notify you of the result by email. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
Your rights
This section will describe how to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data.
Children's privacy
This section is being drafted.
